How to get on our desk?

Show us you can trade with edge and manage risk in a simulated environment. We have two versions of our Tryout to choose from:

Basic Tryout

  • $50,000 sim account starting balance.

  • Reach $60,000 account balance.

  • Don’t let your account balance fall below $46,000.

  • Don’t lose more than -$1,500 in net PL for a trading session. (Like our max drawdown this is also static, not trailing.)

  • In order to pass the Tryout, no more than 20% of your total PL can come from one single session. If you get to the profit target and this is not met, you simply need to make more PL until it is.

Apteros Tryout Pro

  • $100,000 sim account starting balance.

  • Reach $125,000 account balance.

  • Don’t let your account balance fall below $90,000.

  • Don’t lose more than -$2,500 in net PL for a trading session. Static, not trailing.

  • In order to pass the Tryout, no more than 20% of your total PL can come from one single session. If you get to the profit target and this is not met, you simply need to make more PL until it is.

  • Get one free account reset to use if you need it on the date of your Tryout subscription re-bill. Use it right away, or up to 20 days after your re-bill date.

Live Trade Desk Information:

  • Our main goal is to develop you as a trader, and size you up as you show consistency and risk-adjusted performance.

  • You begin with a static max drawdown of the same amount as the Tryout you passed.

  • You keep 60% of the net P/L, we take the downside risks.

    • We do give a 100% net P/L payout on your very first withdrawal (of up to $100,000) as a way of saying thank you for being a part of Apteros.

    • Many firms offer 80 or 90% split to the trader. We would ask you what business those companies are in… evaluations or developing high performing traders and sharing in that.

  • Your max drawdown on the live desk is not trailing. As you grow and size up, we will more than likely increase your max drawdown, increase your daily loss limit, etc as we invest in you.

  • The daily loss limit you start with is determined together with Apteros leadership as you begin. In most cases we want to see traders simply continue doing what they were doing successfully during their Tryout. We do encourage you to start small - it’s a marathon not a sprint, and we want to help you avoid what is a real risk of ruin.

  • You’ll be required to do basic work such as doing an end of day review for any session you trade. We have a culture of getting better, and if you aren’t reviewing your work - you aren’t improving like you could be.

  • We will be in your corner - watching your risk, helping you set goals, analyzing your stats, looking at your trade fills, reviewing your reviews, and offering feedback and advice where needed. Our job is to get to know your trading, and help you thrive. Your job is to be coachable, manage risk, execute as best you can, and put in the work to get better each day.

  • There are huge opportunities beyond just the Jr Desk, onto a Sr Desk and access tremendous cost savings with lowered rates.
